Ingredients

  • 600 g Beef steak (Cut into thin strips against the grain)
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Black pepper (To taste, freshly ground if possible)
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce (Use one of the two options)
  • 2 Garlic (Finely chopped cloves)
  • 1 Onion (Large, cut into julienne strips)
  • 60 g Mild Cheddar cheese (From @kraftcheese_latam or the available brand)
  • 60 g Mozzarella cheese (From @kraftcheese_latam or the available brand)
  • 4 Sandwich rolls (Of your preferred type and size, ideally cheesesteak rolls or soft baguettes)
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil (For cooking the beef, garlic, and onion)

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the beef steak into very thin strips, always against the grain, so it remains tender. Finely chop the garlic and cut the onion into julienne strips.

  2. 2

Season the beef strips with salt and pepper. Add the soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce and toss to coat; let them rest for a few minutes while you heat the pan.

  3. 3

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the oil and wait until it is hot but not smoking.

  4. 4

Add the julienned onion to the skillet. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and lightly browned.

  5. 5

Add the chopped garlic and cook for approximately 30 seconds, until fragrant. Avoid browning it too much so it does not become bitter.

  6. 6

Add the steak strips to the skillet. Spread them out in an even layer as much as possible and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, turning them, until browned and fully cooked.

  7. 7

Reduce the heat to medium-low and distribute the Mild Cheddar and mozzarella over the beef. Cover the skillet for 1 to 2 minutes, until the cheeses are completely melted.

  8. 8

Open the rolls and, if desired, briefly toast them in the skillet until warm and slightly crisp on the inside.

  9. 9

Divide the steak, onion, and cheese mixture among the four rolls. Serve immediately while the cheese is still melted.

Notes

The post does not provide quantities or detailed instructions; the quantities and procedure were estimated based on the ingredient list. Adjust the salt, pepper, and sauce to taste. For even cooking, avoid overcrowding the skillet; cook the beef in batches if necessary.
