Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 2.4 kg before cooking, which is about 240 g per serving.
Steps
Cook the breakfast sausage and bacon separately or as convenient until done. Drain the grease well from both; chop the bacon into small pieces.
In a large bowl, whisk together the pancake mix and water, following the pancake mix package directions for the water amount if they differ.
Add the shredded cheese, cooked bacon, browned sausage, and maple syrup to the bowl. If desired, reserve a little cheese, bacon, and sausage for the topping.
Stir the mixture well until combined.
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Transfer the pancake mixture to the prepared baking dish.
Scatter any reserved cheese, bacon, and sausage over the top, if using.
Bake at 375°F (190 °C) (190°C (375 °F)) for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
If desired, brush the casserole with melted butter. Serve pieces with additional maple syrup, if desired.
Notes
The water amount may vary by pancake mix; follow the package directions if they differ. Keeping some cheese, bacon, and sausage aside for topping and brushing with melted butter are optional. The source gives no amount for cooking spray or extra syrup.
