Ingredients
- 12 Original Hawaiian Rolls (12-count pack)
- Olive oil (for sautéing)
- 1 lb Chicken breast (cut into cubes)
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder (divided (1 tsp for the chicken, 0.5 tsp for the butter))
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
- BBQ sauce (to taste)
- 1 cup Shredded Colby Jack cheese
- 6 Bacon (cooked and crumbled)
- Crispy fried onions (French's type)
- 2 tbsp Butter (melted)
- 0.5 tsp Dried parsley
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cubed chicken with a splash of olive oil.
- 3
Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and the Italian seasoning.
- 4
Stir well and cook until the chicken is fully cooked, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- 5
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, without separating the individual buns if possible.
- 6
Place the bottom half of the rolls on a baking sheet. Add a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese and top with the cooked chicken.
- 7
Drizzle BBQ sauce over the chicken and top with the shredded Colby Jack cheese.
- 8
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and crispy onions on top. Place the top half of the rolls over the fillings.
- 9
In a small bowl, mix the 2 tablespoons of melted butter with the remaining half teaspoon of garlic powder and the dried parsley.
- 10
Brush this mixture over the top of the rolls.
- 11
Bake the sliders for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is lightly golden brown.
Notes
You can use shredded rotisserie chicken to save time. Make sure not to overheat the bread so it doesn't get hard.
