Ingredients

  • 45 g rolled oats (large rolled oats)
  • 45 ml water
  • 30 g low-fat quark (low-fat quark)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (divided)
  • 50 g applesauce (applesauce)
  • 1 egg (size S)
  • 10 g protein powder (vanilla or speculoos flavor; if omitting, add extra oats)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 70 g apple (diced into small pieces)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F). Grease a small baking dish (approximately 12x12 cm).

  2. 2

In a small bowl, combine the rolled oats, water, low-fat quark, and a portion of the cinnamon. Mix well with a spoon and set aside.

  3. 3

In a separate larger bowl, mix the applesauce, egg, and the remaining cinnamon until well combined.

  4. 4

Add the oat and quark mixture to the applesauce mixture. Stir in the protein powder and baking powder, mixing with a fork or spoon until a uniform batter forms.

  5. 5

Fold in the chopped apple pieces.

  6. 6

Pour the complete mixture into the prepared baking dish.

  7. 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, depending on your oven, until set and golden.

Notes

If you don't want to use protein powder, you can replace it with a few extra grams of oats. This recipe is perfect for meal prep; store in the refrigerator or an airtight container.
