Ingredients
- 188 g beef strips (lean cuts recommended)
- 10 g plain flour
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 0.25 tsp garlic granules
- white pepper (a tiny smidge; optional if sensitive to spice)
- 0.5 tbsp ketchup
- 0.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 0.5 tsp garlic (minced or paste)
- 0.25 tsp fresh ginger (minced or grated)
- 0.5 red onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 red pepper (thinly sliced)
- 62 g noodle nest (raw weight; cooked according to package instructions)
- cooking oil spray (for pan spritzing)
Steps
- 1
In a bowl or container, combine the beef strips, 10g plain flour, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp garlic granules, and a smidge of white pepper. Shake or toss until all beef strips are thoroughly and evenly coated.
- 2
Spritz a frying pan with oil and heat over medium-high heat. Place the beef strips into the pan one at a time, ensuring there is space between each piece to allow them to crisp up properly.
- 3
Cook the beef without touching it until the bottom is crispy, then flip each strip to crisp the other side. Once crispy, remove the beef from the pan and set aside in a bowl.
- 4
Wipe the pan clean and apply another spritz of oil. Add the thinly sliced red onion and red pepper, sautéing until they begin to soften.
- 5
While the vegetables are cooking, prepare the sauce by mixing together 1/2 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp honey, 1/2 tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp garlic, and 1/4 tsp fresh ginger in a small bowl.
- 6
Add the crispy beef back into the pan with the vegetables and pour over the prepared sauce. Stir to coat.
- 7
Add the cooked noodles (prepared from the 62g raw nest) to the pan. Give everything one final mix until the noodles are well-coated in the sticky sauce and heated through.
