Ingredients
- 1 cup Peanut butter (creamy)
- 0.25 cup Butter (melted with peanut butter)
- 1.5 cup Powdered sugar
- Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)
- 0.5 cup Fruit preserves (strawberry or raspberry recommended)
- 1.5 cup Chocolate chips (melted for dipping)
Steps
- 1
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the peanut butter and butter. Stir constantly until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
- 2
Remove the peanut butter mixture from the heat and add 1.5 cups of powdered sugar. Blend thoroughly until a dough-like consistency forms.
- 3
Let the peanut butter mixture sit and cool for approximately 30 minutes.
- 4
Prepare a silicone egg-shaped mold by lightly sprinkling a little flaky salt into the bottom of each cavity.
- 5
Press the peanut butter mixture into the molds, filling them just enough to cover the bottom and reach the edges, leaving room for the preserves.
- 6
Add a small spoonful of fruit preserves into the center of each peanut butter egg.
- 7
Place the mold in the freezer for 30 minutes to set.
- 8
Remove from the freezer. Take two halves and press them together to form a full egg shape (or leave as halves if preferred).
- 9
Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth.
- 10
Dip each peanut butter egg into the melted chocolate until fully coated.
- 11
Place the coated eggs on a parchment-lined tray and sprinkle the tops with more flaky salt.
- 12
Return the eggs to the freezer for another 30 minutes until the chocolate is completely set.
- 13
Store the finished eggs in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Notes
The creator recommends using high-quality preserves for the center. These treats are best kept refrigerated to maintain the texture of the peanut butter filling.
