Recipe by Josh New @j.newtrition · Instagram

Imported by Thriving OnLowCarb on SeeMeCook

A high-volume, macro-friendly protein snack that fluffs up to a massive 8-cup volume. It has a thick, soft-serve consistency similar to a Dairy Queen Blizzard, making it incredibly filling for very few calories.

Ingredients

  • 100 ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop whey protein powder (use a brand that tastes good; vanilla or mango flavor recommended)
  • 150 g frozen mango (frozen ripe mango provides the best flavor)
  • 150 g ice

Steps

  1. 1

Add 100 mL of unsweetened almond milk, 150 g of frozen mango, 1 scoop of whey protein, and 150 g of ice into a food processor.

  2. 2

Blend the mixture in the food processor for 3 to 4 minutes. Continue blending until the mixture aerates and 'fluffs' up significantly in volume.

  3. 3

Stop blending once the mixture reaches a thick, voluminous, soft-serve consistency that fills the processor bowl (up to 8 cups in volume).

  4. 4

Transfer to a large bowl and serve immediately while frozen.

Notes

For the best flavor, freeze your own ripe mango chunks. The high volume comes from the air incorporated during the long blending time in a food processor; a standard blender may not produce the same 'fluff' effect. Total calories for the recipe are approximately 240-300 kcal with 20-25g of protein depending on the protein powder brand used.
