Ingredients

  • 1 roll Puff pastry (Jus-Rol brand mentioned)
  • 1 Egg (For egg wash)
  • 8 tsp Caramelised onion
  • 200 g Brie (Approximately)
  • 4.5 sprigs Rosemary (4–5 sprigs; chopped for finishing)
  • Baking paper (For lining the baking tray)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. 2

Roll the puff pastry onto the lined tray. Cut it into rectangles; the author made eight, though smaller rectangles may be used for canapé-sized tartlets.

  3. 3

Score a smaller rectangle inside each pastry piece, leaving a 1–2 cm border. Take care not to cut all the way through the pastry.

  4. 4

Beat the egg, then brush egg wash over the borders of the pastry rectangles.

  5. 5

Add 1 teaspoon of caramelised onion to the centre of each pastry rectangle.

  6. 6

Place two thick cubes of brie on top of the onion in each tartlet.

  7. 7

Bake for 17–19 minutes, or until the pastry is golden.

  8. 8

Chop the rosemary and scatter it over the tartlets to finish. Enjoy.

Notes

The post says the pastry and caramelised onion are store-bought. The roll's weight and the rosemary weight are not specified; pastry nutrition and grams are approximate. No quantity is given for the baking paper.
