Ingredients

  • 225 g Halloumi
  • 6 Smoked streaky bacon (rashers)
  • 1 tbsp Wholegrain mustard
  • 2 tbsp Honey

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. 2

Cut the halloumi into 12 sticks. If a stick breaks, keep the pieces together; the bacon will secure them.

  3. 3

Cut the 6 bacon rashers in half to make 12 pieces.

  4. 4

Wrap each halloumi stick with a piece of bacon, securing any broken pieces together. Arrange them on the lined baking tray.

  5. 5

Bake for 15 minutes. Turn each piece over and bake for a further 5 minutes.

  6. 6

While the halloumi is baking, combine the wholegrain mustard and honey in a bowl.

  7. 7

Remove the tray from the oven and brush the halloumi parcels with the honey-mustard mixture.

  8. 8

Return the tray to the oven and bake for a final 5 minutes, until sticky and caramelised.

  9. 9

Serve and enjoy; they can be served as an appetiser or alongside a roast dinner.

The description spells “rashers” as “rashes.” Serve as an appetiser or alongside a roast dinner.
