Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup Plain strained Greek yogurt
  • 1 Large egg
  • Vanilla extract (Optional, one drop)
  • Cinnamon (Optional, one pinch)
  • Oil or butter for greasing (To lightly grease the ovenproof dish or small baking pan)
  • Fresh berries (Optional, for serving)
  • Honey (Optional, a little for serving)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly grease an ovenproof dish or small baking pan.

  2. 2

In a bowl, whisk the yogurt and egg until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.

  3. 3

If desired, add one drop of vanilla extract for a sweeter flavor or one pinch of cinnamon for a warm aroma, and stir.

  4. 4

Transfer the mixture to the prepared dish and smooth the surface.

  5. 5

Bake for 20 minutes, until the surface is set and the edges are lightly browned.

  6. 6

Let it cool at room temperature for at least 15 minutes before serving.

  7. 7

For a firmer texture more reminiscent of cheesecake, refrigerate it for 1–2 hours after it has cooled.

  8. 8

Serve, if desired, with fresh berries or a little honey.

Notes

The 40-minute total time includes 5 minutes of preparation, 20 minutes of baking, and at least 15 minutes of cooling. The optional additional refrigeration takes 1–2 hours. The amount of greasing ingredient and optional toppings is not specified.
