Ingredients
- 2 cup Elbow macaroni (Dry pasta)
- 2 cup Milk
- 1.5 cup Water (You can slightly reduce the amount of water if you prefer firmer pasta.)
- 1.5 cup Grated cheddar cheese (You can use 2 cup grated kaşar cheese directly instead.)
- 0.5 cup Grated kaşar cheese
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
- 0.5 tsp Sweet paprika
- Salt (Adjust to taste according to the saltiness of the cheeses.)
Steps
- 1
Place the elbow macaroni, milk, and water in a pot. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
- 2
When the mixture boils, reduce the heat to low. Cook for approximately 9–10 minutes after boiling, until the pasta is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent the bottom of the pot from sticking.
- 3
When the pasta is tender and the liquid at the bottom of the pot has thickened to a sauce-like consistency, turn off the heat.
- 4
Add the butter, garlic powder, black pepper, sweet paprika, and salt to the pot.
- 5
Add the grated cheddar cheese and grated kaşar cheese. Stir quickly until the cheeses melt and the mixture becomes creamy and smooth.
- 6
If the consistency is too thick, loosen it by adding a very small amount of hot milk or hot water.
- 7
Serve hot immediately so the cheeses do not set.
Notes
The source does not specify the amount of hot milk or hot water to add to loosen the consistency. If cheddar is unavailable, you can use a total of 2 cup grated kaşar cheese instead of the 1.5 cup cheddar specified in the recipe.
