Ingredients
- 2.5 large chicken breasts (Source gives 2 to 3; flattened)
- 3 tbsp olive oil (Divided; source instructions apply 2 tbsp to the chicken and heat 2 tbsp in the pan (the listed total is 3 tbsp).)
- 1 tbsp paprika (For seasoning the chicken)
- 2 tsp seasoning salt (For seasoning the chicken)
- 2 tsp black pepper (For seasoning the chicken)
- 2 tsp garlic powder (For seasoning the chicken)
- 2 tsp onion powder (For seasoning the chicken)
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper (Optional; for seasoning the chicken)
- 3 tbsp butter (For Alfredo)
- 7 garlic cloves (Minced; for Alfredo)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp black pepper (For Alfredo)
- 1 tsp paprika (For Alfredo)
- 1 tsp onion powder (For Alfredo)
- 0.5 tsp chicken bouillon powder (For Alfredo)
- 0.5 tsp salt (For Alfredo)
- 0.5 cup fresh Parmesan (Grated)
- 0.25 cup mozzarella (Grated; for Alfredo)
- 0.3333 cup butter (Softened; for garlic butter)
- 3 garlic cloves (Minced; for garlic butter)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (Minced; for garlic butter. Source also says to finish with fresh parsley but gives no additional amount.)
- 1 fresh French loaf (Halved lengthwise)
- 1.5 cup mozzarella cheese (Grated; for assembly)
Steps
- 1
Pat the chicken breasts dry, then pound them to an even thickness. Coat the chicken with 2 tbsp of the listed olive oil and season generously with the chicken seasoning mixture.
- 2
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Transfer it to rest, then slice. The listed oil amount and the amounts stated in these two oil instructions do not match; use the recipe's listed 3 tbsp total as written, reserving oil for the pan as needed.
- 3
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 4
Mix the softened butter with the minced garlic and parsley. Spread the garlic butter over both halves of the French loaf. Optionally toast the buttered bread for 3 minutes for extra crunch.
- 5
In the same pan over medium heat, melt the 3 tbsp butter for the Alfredo, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- 6
Add the 7 minced garlic cloves to the pan and cook for 1 minute.
- 7
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Slowly pour in the heavy cream and add the Alfredo seasonings: black pepper, paprika, onion powder, chicken bouillon powder, and salt.
- 8
Simmer the sauce for 3–4 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- 9
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan and 1/4 cup grated mozzarella.
- 10
Spread a layer of Alfredo sauce over the garlic bread.
- 11
Top with the 1 1/2 cups grated mozzarella and the sliced chicken pieces.
- 12
Pour the remaining Alfredo sauce over the top.
- 13
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until melty and golden. Optionally broil for the final 1–2 minutes.
- 14
Finish with fresh parsley, slice the loaf, and serve.
Notes
The olive oil quantity is listed as 3 tbsp total, but the instructions call for 2 tbsp to coat the chicken and another 2 tbsp for the pan. Fresh parsley is also specified as a finish without a separate amount; the listed 2 tbsp is for the garlic butter. Serving count and prep/cook times are estimates.
