  • 1 tsp black pepper (For salmon seasoning)
  • 1 tsp paprika (For salmon seasoning)
  • 2 tsp chili powder (For salmon seasoning)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder (For salmon seasoning)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (For salmon seasoning)
  • 8 garlic (Minced; for salmon)
  • 2 tbsp honey (For salmon marinade)
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil (For salmon marinade)
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce (For salmon marinade)
  • 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar (For salmon marinade)
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (Grated)
  • 4 mini cucumbers (Or 1 large cucumber; thinly sliced)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (For cucumber salad)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (For cucumber salad)
  • 3 garlic (Minced; for cucumber salad)
  • 1 tbsp white sugar (For cucumber salad)
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame seeds (For cucumber salad)
  • 2 tbsp chili crisp (For cucumber salad)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (Optional, but recommended; for cucumber salad)
  • salt (Optional, for salting and massaging the cucumbers)
  • creamy sriracha sauce (For serving; Primal Kitchen sauce is named in the source)
  • cooked rice (For serving; jasmine rice is recommended)
  • sesame seeds (For finishing)
  • green onions (Sliced; for finishing)
  • avocado (Sliced; for plating)
  • carrot (Grated; for plating)
  • edamame (For plating)

Steps

  1. 1

If the salmon has skin, remove it. Cut the salmon into large bite-sized cubes and pat the pieces dry with paper towel.

  2. 2

Add the salmon to a bowl with the salt, black pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, avocado oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Toss until evenly coated. Marinate for as long as your patience allows.

  3. 3

Preheat an oven or air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment.

  4. 4

Spread the marinated salmon pieces on the prepared tray. Air-fry for 8–10 minutes, or bake in the oven for about 12 minutes. Optionally flip the salmon halfway through cooking.

  5. 5

Wash the cucumbers and slice them thinly.

  6. 6

Optionally sprinkle the cucumber slices with salt, massage them, and let them sit for 5 minutes. Rinse them a few times to remove the salt, then pat them dry.

  7. 7

Toss the cucumbers with the soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, white sugar, toasted sesame seeds, chili crisp, and sesame oil.

  8. 8

Build each bowl over a bed of cooked rice. Add the salmon bites, cucumber salad, sliced avocado, grated carrot, and edamame.

  9. 9

Finish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and plenty of creamy sriracha sauce.

Notes

The source does not specify an amount of rice, creamy sriracha, or the optional plating toppings. Marinating time is left to preference. Salmon may be baked or air-fried; the source gives 8–10 minutes for air frying and about 12 minutes for baking at 400°F (200°C).
