Ingredients
- 600 g Plain white flour
- 0.75 tsp Salt
- 7 g Instant yeast (7 g packet)
- 70 g Soft light brown sugar
- 250 g Milk
- 80 g Butter (Melted; plus extra to grease the tray)
- 1 Egg
- 300 g Smooth caramelised biscuit spread (Use 250 g for the filling, 2 tbsp for the frosting, and the remainder for finishing on top)
- 25 g Icing sugar
- 180 g Cream cheese
- 1 tsp Vanilla bean paste
- Flour (For flouring the work surface)
- Butter (Extra, for greasing the baking tray)
Steps
- 1
Warm the milk until lukewarm. Melt the measured butter, then add the warm milk, brown sugar, yeast, egg, and melted butter to a stand-mixer bowl. Whisk until creamy.
- 2
Add the flour and salt. Stir with a spoon until a rough dough forms.
- 3
Fit the dough hook and knead on low-medium speed for 8–10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and only slightly sticky.
- 4
Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl and cover with cling film. Leave in a warm place for about 40 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- 5
Lightly flour a work surface and roll the risen dough into a rectangle.
- 6
Microwave 250 g of the biscuit spread for 10–20 seconds, just until soft enough to spread easily but not fully melted.
- 7
Spread the softened biscuit spread over the dough, then roll the dough up into a log.
- 8
Cut the log into equal rolls about 1 inch thick using floss; discard the end pieces. The creator reports getting 9 rolls.
- 9
Grease a baking tray with extra butter, arrange the rolls in it, and cover with cling film. Leave for 30 minutes to prove again.
- 10
Preheat the oven to 180°C (360°F).
- 11
Cover the tray with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- 12
Remove the tray from the oven and let the rolls cool for 5–10 minutes.
- 13
In a bowl, combine the icing sugar, cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of biscuit spread, and vanilla bean paste to make the frosting.
- 14
Spread the frosting over the rolls.
- 15
Finish with the remaining biscuit spread on top and serve.
- 16
For rolls eaten in the following days, microwave each roll for 30 seconds to warm and refresh it.
Notes
The written ingredient list does not include cinnamon or a separate filling sugar, although the instructions mention mixing filling sugar and cinnamon; their quantities are not provided, so they are omitted. The source does not specify exact dimensions for the dough rectangle or a precise amount of extra flour/butter for dusting and greasing.
