Ingredients
- 8 oz Noodles of choice (Instant ramen was used in the source; cook until one minute short of al dente.)
- 3 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp Dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Light soy sauce (Also called thin or regular soy sauce.)
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- Sesame seeds (Optional garnish.)
- Scallions (Optional garnish.)
Steps
- 1
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook until they are one minute short of al dente. Rinse the noodles under cold water and drain them well.
- 2
Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Once it is fully melted, add the dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, and sugar. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
- 3
Add the drained noodles to the simmering sauce. Toss until the sauce has soaked into the noodles and coats every strand.
- 4
Transfer the noodles to a bowl. Optionally garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm the noodles in a pan over low heat with a splash of cooking water, or microwave them in short bursts while stirring between intervals. Freezing is not recommended because the noodles may become mushy and the sauce may separate. The listed noodles, butter, soy sauces, and sugar are quantified; sesame seeds and scallions are optional and unquantified in the source.
