Ingredients
- 150 g Unsalted butter (Softened at room temperature)
- 2 Eggs
- 100 g Brown sugar
- 100 g Granulated sugar
- 375 g All-purpose flour
- 5 g Vanilla extract (The recipe specifies a range of 5 to 8 g, or 5 to 7 ml (1 to 1½ tsp) of liquid extract; use up to 8 g according to taste.)
- 2 g Baking powder
- 170 g Mini chocolate chips
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). For softer cookies, set the oven to 170 °C (335 °F), according to the desired texture.
- 2
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and eggs until smooth and well combined.
- 3
Add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Mix just until a soft dough forms, without overworking it.
- 4
Add the mini chocolate chips and gently fold them into the dough until evenly distributed.
- 5
Scoop out small portions of dough and shape them into small balls. Place them on a baking sheet, spacing them sufficiently apart.
- 6
Refrigerate the dough balls for at least 30 minutes so they are thoroughly chilled before baking.
- 7
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden while the centers remain soft.
- 8
Let the cookie poppers cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
The recipe specifies baking at 180 °C or 170 °C depending on the desired softness. The cookies are intended to be served as small bite-sized treats and can be accompanied by your favorite toppings or beverages.
