Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise (Duke's Mayonnaise recommended)
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • 0.75 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 Onion (grated or juiced in a chopper)
  • 0.5 tsp Dill weed (dried)
  • 0.5 tsp Celery salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk

Steps

  1. 1

Grate the onion or process it in a small food chopper until finely minced or juiced.

  2. 2

Add 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup sour cream, and 1 cup buttermilk to a large mason jar.

  3. 3

Add 3/4 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp dried dill weed, 1/2 tsp celery salt, and the 1/4 grated onion to the jar.

  4. 4

Seal the jar tightly and shake vigorously until the sour cream is fully broken up and the dressing is smooth and well combined.

  5. 5

Store in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for about 5 days to a week. The author notes that dried dill is used instead of fresh to prevent the dressing from spoiling too quickly.
