Ingredients
- 3 chicken thighs
- salt (To taste)
- black pepper (To taste)
- cornstarch or flour (For a light coating)
- 3 tbsp butter (For the sauce)
- 3 cloves garlic (Minced)
- 2.5 tbsp soy sauce (For the sauce)
- 2 tbsp honey (For the sauce)
- 1 lemon lemon zest (Zest of one lemon)
- 1 tbsp paprika (For the sauce)
- 1.5 tsp chili flakes (For the sauce)
- sesame seeds (For garnish)
- green onion (For garnish)
Steps
- 1
Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on all sides.
- 2
Lightly coat the seasoned chicken thighs in cornstarch or flour, shaking off any excess.
- 3
Pan-fry the coated chicken in a pan over medium-high heat for about 6–8 minutes per side, until cooked through and nicely crispy.
- 4
Remove the crispy chicken from the pan and set it aside.
- 5
Melt the butter in the pan, then add the minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, lemon zest, paprika, and chili flakes. Mix the sauce ingredients together.
- 6
Reduce the sauce over the heat until it becomes thick and sticky.
- 7
Return the chicken to the pan and coat it thoroughly in the sauce.
- 8
Transfer the sauced chicken to a plate and garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.
- 9
For the optional bonus finish, remove the coated chicken from the pan and continue reducing the remaining sauce until it reaches a very thick, almost jam-like consistency. Layer the reduced sauce over the chicken before serving.
Notes
The source does not specify whether the chicken thighs are bone-in or boneless, or provide an exact sauce-reduction time. The bonus jam-like reduction is optional. Serve with rice if desired, as suggested by the source hashtags.
