Ingredients
- 3 chicken thighs (boneless)
- salt (to taste)
- black pepper (to taste)
- cornstarch (for light dredging; all-purpose flour can be used)
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 garlic (minced cloves)
- 2.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 lemon zest (zest of one whole lemon)
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1.5 tsp red pepper flakes
- sesame seeds (for garnish)
- green onions (chopped for garnish)
Steps
- 1
Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 2
Lightly dredge the chicken in cornstarch (or flour) until all sides are evenly coated.
- 3
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for about 6 to 8 minutes per side, until fully cooked and the skin is golden and crispy.
- 4
Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- 5
In the same pan, melt the butter and add the minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, lemon zest, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
- 6
Cook the sauce mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reduces and reaches a thick, sticky consistency.
- 7
Return the chicken to the pan and toss thoroughly to coat it in the sauce.
- 8
Transfer to a plate and finish by garnishing with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Notes
Bonus Tip: After removing the glazed chicken, continue reducing the remaining sauce in the pan until it reaches a thick, jam-like consistency. Spread this concentrated glaze over the chicken for an even more intense flavor.
