Ingredients
- 1 Pizza dough base (Approximately 250 g; rolled out and cut into triangles)
- 100 g Tasty high-protein cheese (The post mentions @eatlean_es TASTY high-protein cheese)
- 100 g Cooked ham (Sliced or chopped, for the filling)
- 1 Beaten egg (For brushing the cachitos before cooking)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the air fryer to 185 °C. If you prefer to use an oven, preheat it to 180 °C and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Roll out the pizza dough base on a lightly floured surface if necessary. Cut it into triangles or elongated portions, depending on the desired size of the cachitos.
- 3
Place a portion of cooked ham and high-protein cheese on the wide end of each triangle, leaving the edge clear so it can be sealed.
- 4
Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the tip, forming a small roll. Gently press the tip and edges to keep the filling inside during cooking.
- 5
Brush the surface of each cachito with beaten egg so it browns. Place them in the air-fryer basket without overcrowding, leaving a little space between them.
- 6
Cook in the air fryer at 185 °C for 6 minutes on one side.
- 7
Carefully turn them over and cook for another 4 minutes, until golden and the dough appears fully cooked.
- 8
If preparing them in the oven, bake at 180 °C for 20-25 minutes, until lightly golden.
- 9
Remove the cachitos and let them rest for a few minutes before serving, as the cheese and filling will be very hot.
Notes
The post states that the recipe uses three main ingredients; the beaten egg is used additionally for brushing. The quantities of cheese, ham, and egg were not specified, so they have been estimated for a pizza dough base of approximately 250 g. Do not overfill the cachitos to prevent the cheese from leaking out during cooking.
