Cottage Cheese Protein Arepas

Ingredients
- 1 cup precooked cornmeal (P.A.N. cornmeal type)
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup water
- salt (a pinch)

In a large bowl, combine one cup of precooked cornmeal, one cup of cottage cheese, and one cup of water.

Add a pinch of salt to the mixture.

Mix and knead all ingredients well until you obtain a dough with a homogeneous texture that is not sticky.

Form the dough into small balls of approximately 100 g each and flatten them gently to give them the traditional arepa shape.

Heat a skillet or griddle (budare) and sear the arepas on both sides until they are lightly golden.

Transfer the arepas to the oven to finish cooking until they are thoroughly cooked and browned to your liking.
Notes
