Ingredients
- 2 inch water (for the steamer pot)
- 0.5 stick butter (melted (no longer coagulated fat))
- garlic (minced (Italian cologne))
- fresh parsley (chopped (grass clippings/Lafamgo))
- Italian seasoning (to taste)
- salt (to taste)
- 16 oz refrigerated flaky layers biscuits (cut into quarters)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded (a fuck ton))
- 0.25 cup parmesan cheese (grated, plus extra for garnish)
- cooking spray (Pam)
Steps
- 1
Prepare a pot with a steamer basket and add approximately 2 inches of water to the bottom. Set aside.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix well.
- 3
Open the 16-ounce can of biscuits and cut each individual biscuit into four quarters.
- 4
Add the biscuit quarters to the butter and herb mixture. Toss thoroughly until every piece is evenly coated.
- 5
Add the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese to the bowl. Mix everything together so the cheese is distributed among the biscuit pieces.
- 6
Line the steamer basket with parchment paper and lightly coat the paper with cooking spray.
- 7
Dump the biscuit and cheese mixture into the lined steamer basket. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 8
Place the pot on the stove over high heat and steam for 20 minutes.
- 9
Preheat your oven broiler (or a specialized cook box) to high.
- 10
Carefully remove the steamed biscuit loaf from the basket and place it onto a sheet pan.
- 11
Broil for a few minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy.
- 12
Garnish with extra parmesan cheese and fresh parsley before serving hot.
Notes
The author uses colorful language ('Italian cologne' for garlic, 'grass clippings' for parsley). Be careful when handling the biscuits after steaming as they will be extremely hot.
