Ingredients

  • 2.6667 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Steps

  1. 1

Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and unsalted butter together, stirring until smooth. Set the mixture aside to cool slightly.

  2. 2

In a bowl, beat the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and room-temperature eggs until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

Add the vanilla extract to the beaten mixture.

  4. 4

Slowly mix in the melted chocolate mixture.

  5. 5

Add the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt directly to the same bowl. Gently mix just until combined.

  6. 6

Scoop the batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving plenty of space between each cookie because they spread while baking.

  7. 7

Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes. Take care not to overbake.

  8. 8

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack.

The recipe does not specify the number or size of cookies, or an exact cooling time; serving yield is estimated.
