Ingredients
- 1.5 cup All-purpose flour (The original recipe also mentions that gluten-free flour can be used.)
- 1.5 cup Plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Garlic powder (Season the dough well.)
- 1 Egg (For brushing the bagels before baking.)
- 1 tbsp Everything bagel seasoning (Can be substituted with sesame seeds; use more or less to taste.)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 190 °C (375 °F). Prepare a baking sheet, preferably lined with parchment paper.
- 2
Add the flour, Greek yogurt, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder to a large bowl.
- 3
Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Continue kneading with your hands until you have a smooth, uniform dough ball; the dough may be somewhat sticky.
- 4
Divide the dough into four portions as evenly as possible.
- 5
Shape each portion into a ball and make a hole in the center to form a bagel. If the dough sticks, lightly dust your hands with flour.
- 6
Place the four bagels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- 7
Beat the egg and brush it over the surface of each bagel.
- 8
Sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds over the top.
- 9
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the bagels are golden and crisp on the outside. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
