Ingredients
- 4.5 Limes (scrubbed and quartered)
- 4 cup Cold filtered water
- 1 cup Pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup Sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup Ice (plus more for serving)
- Vanilla vodka or coconut rum (optional for a boozy version)
Steps
- 1
Place the 4-5 scrubbed and quartered limes and 4 cups of cold filtered water into a blender.
- 2
Pulse or blend for a maximum of 30 seconds. It is important not to over-blend, as the lime skins will release bitter oils if processed for too long.
- 3
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher or bowl to remove the lime solids and skins. Discard the solids.
- 4
Rinse the blender and pour the strained lime water back into it.
- 5
Add 1 cup of pitted cherries, 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk, and 1 cup of ice to the blender.
- 6
Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and frothy.
- 7
Serve immediately over fresh ice. If desired, stir in a shot of vanilla vodka or coconut rum for a cocktail version.
Notes
Be careful not to blend the limes for more than 30 seconds, as the pith and skin will make the drink very bitter. This drink is best served immediately as the lime juice can become bitter over time.
