Ingredients
- 2 cup Greek yogurt (plain)
- 2.5 cup self raising flour (plus more for kneading and dusting)
- 0.33 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp butter (melted)
- 3 tbsp cream cheese
- 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
- 0.33 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk (add more as needed for consistency)
Steps
- 1
Combine the self-raising flour and Greek yogurt in a large bowl to form the dough. The mixture will be sticky, so sprinkle additional flour on your hands to make it easier to handle.
- 2
Use your hands to mix and knead the dough until it comes together into a cohesive ball.
- 3
Generously flour your work surface and rolling pin. Roll the dough out into a large rectangular shape.
- 4
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread this filling mixture evenly across the surface of the dough rectangle.
- 5
Carefully roll the dough into a tight log shape. If the dough sticks, use a spatula and a little extra flour to help with the rolling process.
- 6
Cut the log into 10-12 even slices. Arrange the slices in a greased baking pan.
- 7
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
- 8
While the rolls are baking, whisk together the cream cheese, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and milk in a bowl. Add more milk if necessary until you reach your desired drizzling consistency.
- 9
Remove the pan from the oven and let the rolls cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- 10
Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls and enjoy.
Notes
If using an American oven, 180°C is approximately 350°F. Some users suggest baking for up to 25 minutes at 350°F for a deeper golden finish. The dough is naturally sticky due to the yogurt, so don't be afraid to use extra flour on your hands and work surface.
