  • 1.5 oz rye whiskey
  • 0.5 oz Amaro Montenegro
  • 0.5 oz Cocchi Americano Bianco (Lillet Blanc or vermouth bianco can be used as a substitute)
  • ice (to fill mixing glass three-quarters full)
  • cocktail cherries (for garnishing)

Steps

    Add 1½ ounces rye, ½ ounce Amaro Montenegro, and ½ ounce Cocchi Americano Bianco to a mixing glass.

    Fill the mixing glass three-quarters full with ice.

    Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture until it is fully combined and well chilled, about 1 minute.

    Strain the cocktail into a chilled cocktail glass.

Notes

Lillet Blanc or vermouth bianco (also sometimes labeled blanc or blanco) can be used in place of the Cocchi Americano Bianco. This recipe is a variation of the Little Italy cocktail, which was originally created by Audrey Saunders.
