Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 1.24 kg before cooking, which is about 125 g per serving.
Steps
In-N-Out Sauce
In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, caramelized onions, sweet relish, vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Refrigerate the sauce until ready to use.
Prepare the Ground Beef
Heat a skillet over high heat with a small amount of oil.
Place 2–3 tablespoons of ground beef in the center of each mini taco shell, pressing it gently into an even layer. The source says “23 tbsp,” which appears ambiguous; this is interpreted as 2–3 tablespoons.
Sprinkle the beef with salt.
Cook the shells in the skillet meat-side down over medium-low heat for 4–5 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through.
Flip and cook the other side until crispy and golden.
Assemble the Tacos
Top each taco with a slice of cheddar cheese, chopped lettuce, and caramelized onions.
Drizzle with the chilled In-N-Out sauce and serve.
Notes
The source lists “23 tbsp of ground beef” per shell; this likely means 2–3 tablespoons, but the intended amount is unclear. It lists 1 lb beef for 10 tacos, which may not align with that per-taco amount. The small amount of cooking oil and the amount of caramelized onions used as topping are not specified. Although garlic powder is listed as a sauce ingredient, the written sauce instructions omit it.
