Ingredients
- 1 red bell pepper (large, finely chopped)
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar (or 1/2 cup white vinegar)
- 5.5 tbsp sugar (5 to 6 tablespoons)
- 1 tsp salt
- cinnamon (a pinch (optional))
- 200 g cream cheese
Steps
- 1
Wash and chop the red pepper into very fine pieces.
- 2
In a pot, add the apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and the pinch of cinnamon.
- 3
Mix the ingredients well in the pot and add the chopped pepper.
- 4
Cook over medium-high heat for approximately 20 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 5
Continue cooking until the liquid reduces and the mixture acquires a jam-like or glossy marmalade texture.
- 6
In a separate bowl, mix part of the pepper jam with the cream cheese until reaching a smooth and homogeneous consistency.
- 7
Serve the cream cheese mixture in a bowl and garnish by pouring the rest of the jam over the top.
Notes
You can serve this dip with crackers, toast, or crusty bread. If you prefer a less intense flavor, you can use 1/2 cup of white vinegar instead of the cup of apple cider vinegar.
