Lemon Marquesa

Recipe by Anaísa López @anaisalopez · Instagram

Imported by Amanda Muñoz on SeeMeCook

A chilled dessert made with layers of Maria-style biscuits and a sweet, tangy lemon cream. The optional white chocolate topping adds a creamy finish; the author notes that powdered milk helps the marquesa set more firmly.

Ingredients

  • 500 g Sweetened condensed milk
  • 400 g Heavy cream (The author used whipping cream for a firmer result; cooking cream also works.)
  • 65 g Powdered milk (It can be omitted, although the marquesa will be less firm.)
  • 170 ml Lemon juice (Approximately the juice of 6 lemons.)
  • 250 g Maria-style biscuits
  • 125 ml Milk
  • 125 g White chocolate (For the optional topping.)
  • 125 g Heavy cream (For the optional topping.)

Steps

  1. 1

Juice the lemons and measure 170 ml of juice. Gather the ingredients for the marquesa and, if you are preparing it, those for the optional topping.

  2. 2

Mix the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and powdered milk until smooth.

  3. 3

Add the lemon juice and mix it into the cream.

  4. 4

Pour the milk into a bowl and dip the Maria-style biscuits in it; arrange them in alternating layers with the cream in a dish.

  5. 5

For the optional topping, heat the heavy cream and add it to the white chocolate; mix until the chocolate melts and the topping is smooth.

  6. 6

Spread the topping over the marquesa if desired.

Notes

The source does not specify the method, chilling time, or when to add the topping; the assembly and topping instructions have been minimally completed to make the ingredient list usable. The topping is optional.
