Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp oats (can be instant or traditional)
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder (a generous pinch)
  • salt (a pinch to taste)
  • seeds (optional, for topping)

Steps

  1. 1

In a small bowl, place the egg, 3 tablespoons of oats, the baking powder, and the pinch of salt.

  2. 2

Mix all ingredients well until a smooth and homogeneous mixture is obtained.

  3. 3

Heat a small skillet over very low heat (crown flame).

  4. 4

Place a silicone ring in the skillet to shape the bread and pour the mixture into the ring.

  5. 5

Sprinkle some seeds on top of the batter if desired.

  6. 6

Cover the skillet and cook over a crown flame for approximately 15 minutes or until the bread is firm and cooked through.

Notes

'Crown flame' refers to the lowest setting on the burner, where the flame barely surrounds the center without directly touching the base of the pan, ideal for stovetop baking. If you don't have silicone rings, you can cook it directly in the skillet like a thick pancake.
