Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken mince
- 2 red onions (small, finely diced)
- coriander (handful, diced)
- 2 red chillies (finely diced)
- 3 peppers
- 2 tbsp oil
- 3 garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 egg (for the burger mix)
- 1 tbsp masala
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 0.5 tbsp salt
- 0.5 tbsp pepper
- 3 tbsp greek yogurt
- 0.5 lemon juice (juice of half a lemon)
- 0.5 garlic (grated)
- 0.33 tsp paprika (for sauce)
- 0.33 tsp salt (for sauce)
- 0.33 tsp pepper (for sauce)
- water (splash to loosen sauce)
- 11 burger buns
- 11 eggs (to fry, 1 per burger)
Steps
- 1
Prepare the vegetables for the burger patties by finely dicing the red onions, red chillies, and peppers. Finely chop the garlic and dice the coriander.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the 1kg chicken mince with the diced onions, coriander, chillies, peppers, and chopped garlic.
- 3
Add the oil, 1 egg, masala, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the chicken mixture.
- 4
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined, then shape the mixture into 10-12 even burger patties.
- 5
To make the sauce, whisk together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, grated garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Add a splash of water to loosen the consistency if needed.
- 6
Cook the chicken patties in a pan or on a grill until fully cooked through and browned on both sides.
- 7
While the burgers are cooking, fry one egg for each burger you plan to serve.
- 8
Toast the burger buns, then assemble by placing a chicken patty on each bun, topping with a fried egg, and drizzling with the yogurt sauce.
Notes
These burgers are perfect for meal prep; you can store the raw patties in the fridge and cook them throughout the week.
