Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes (peeled and cubed)
- olive oil for potatoes (as needed)
- paprika powder or French-fry seasoning (to taste)
- salt for potatoes (to taste)
- 500 g ground beef (beef mince)
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (chopped)
- 3 green pointed peppers (chopped)
- 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 0.5 tbsp pepper paste
- 2 tomatoes (diced)
- 150 ml water
- paprika powder (to taste)
- meat seasoning mix (to taste)
- chili powder (to taste)
- salt (to taste)
- black pepper (to taste)
- 150 g plain yogurt
- parsley (for garnish)
Steps
- 1
Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Toss them with olive oil, paprika powder or French-fry seasoning, and salt.
- 2
Cook the seasoned potatoes in an air fryer until crisp, or bake them in an oven at 190°C / 375°F for about 35 minutes, until golden brown.
- 3
Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a pan and fry the ground beef with the chopped onion and garlic.
- 4
Add the chopped green and red peppers and briefly cook them with the beef mixture.
- 5
Add the tomato paste, pepper paste, and diced tomatoes.
- 6
Season with paprika powder, meat seasoning mix, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 7
Pour in the water and simmer over low heat for 10–15 minutes.
- 8
Layer the cooked potatoes, yogurt, and ground beef mixture in bowls, then garnish with parsley.
Notes
The source gives no quantity for olive oil, seasonings, or parsley; add them to taste or as needed. The German recipe specifies two tomatoes; the Turkish text lists three, so the German quantity was used. The transcript confirms the layering order: potatoes, yogurt, then ground beef.
