Steps
Slice the smoked sausage links and dice the onion.
Heat a little oil in a pan. Add the sliced sausage and diced onion, and sauté until they are a bit golden.
Add a little ranch seasoning to the sausage and onion and toss to coat. Add Slap Ya Mama seasoning if desired; the creator uses it but says it is optional.
Quarter the yellow potatoes and place them in the crockpot.
Add the sautéed sausage and onion to the crockpot.
Add the can of cheddar cheese soup.
Measure the heavy whipping cream using the empty soup can, or use 3/4 cup, and add it to the crockpot.
Add a couple of tablespoons of ranch seasoning to the crockpot, along with Slap Ya Mama seasoning if desired.
Add the sour cream and shredded cheese. Use 1/2–1 cup sour cream and 1–2 cups shredded cheese; the creator uses 1 cup sour cream.
Mix everything well.
Cover and cook on high for about 4 hours (the comment gives a 4–5 hour range), or on low for 6–7 hours.
Serve and enjoy.
Notes
The creator often uses frozen hash browns instead of quartered potatoes; this is offered as an alternative, with no amount specified. The comment lists cooking on high for 4–5 hours; the audio says about 4 hours.
