Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 895 g before cooking, which is about 110 g per serving.
Steps
Take the butter out of the refrigerator ahead of time to soften. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
Combine the softened butter and sugar, and mix until smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing the batter thoroughly after each addition.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder into the butter mixture. Mix; the batter will be very thick at this stage.
Wash and pat dry the apples, peel them, and coarsely grate.
Fold the grated apples into the batter.
Grease the pan with butter or line it with parchment paper. Add the batter and spread it evenly.
Bake for 30–35 minutes at 180 °C (350 °F). Check for doneness with a wooden skewer; the brownies are best when the center remains slightly moist.
Let the brownies cool, then cut into individual portions.
Notes
The source does not specify the pan size or number of servings; the serving count is estimated. You can use butter or parchment paper to prepare the pan.
