Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 470 g before cooking, which is about 40 g per serving.
Steps
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of water, and 1 tablespoon of butter.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Stir the mixture constantly until the sugar and butter are completely melted and the syrup is well combined.
Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.
Once cooled, pour the syrup into your favorite syrup bottles or an airtight container for storage.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator. The butter may solidify slightly when chilled; if so, give the bottle a good shake or let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before using.
