Ingredients
- 15 oz canned chickpeas (drained, rinsed, and patted very dry)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp paprika
- salt (to taste)
- black pepper (to taste)
Steps
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2
Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly, then pat them completely dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Ensuring they are dry is essential for achieving a crispy texture.
- 3
In a bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- 4
Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- 5
Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until the chickpeas are golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes; they will continue to crisp up as they cool.
Notes
For extra crunch, leave the chickpeas in the oven for an additional 5 minutes, but watch closely to ensure they do not burn. These are best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
