Ingredients

  • 1 paquet Filo pastry sheets (Keep the package rolled and tightly packed for cutting it into strips.)
  • Olive oil (A little for greasing the dish, a drizzle over the strips, a small drizzle in the filling and a few drops over the top layer.)
  • 3 Eggs
  • 10 cl Milk
  • Salt (Adjust to taste.)
  • Pepper (Adjust to taste.)
  • 5 galets Frozen spinach (Thawed in the microwave, then squeezed by hand to remove all the water.)
  • 1 tasse Grated mozzarella (A small cup.)
  • 2 pincées Granulated garlic
  • 2 c. à soupe Cottage cheese (Heaping tablespoons. Can be replaced with feta.)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Keep the filo sheets rolled and tightly packed in their package without unfolding them, then cut them into slices to create strips.

  2. 2

Lightly grease an ovenproof dish. Spread the filo strips in the dish, then drizzle olive oil over them.

  3. 3

Thaw the spinach blocks in the microwave. Carefully squeeze them between your hands to remove all the water.

  4. 4

In a bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, a small drizzle of olive oil, the salt and pepper.

  5. 5

Add the drained spinach, grated mozzarella, granulated garlic and cottage cheese to the egg mixture, then combine.

  6. 6

Spread the filling over the filo strips in the dish.

  7. 7

Arrange another layer of filo strips on top to add crispiness. Add a few drops of olive oil.

  8. 8

    Bake at 180 °C for 30 minutes.

  9. 9

Cut into portions and serve. The video indicates that the portions cut easily and that the bottom resembles quiche pastry.

Notes

The size of the filo pastry package and the weight of the spinach blocks are not specified. The preparation time is estimated. Feta is suggested as a substitute for the cottage cheese.
