Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 460 g before cooking, which is about 75 g per serving.
Steps
Blend the very thick cottage cheese until smooth. Line a baking sheet and set it aside.
Whisk the egg, blended cottage cheese, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined. Add a little more flour if needed so the dough is scoopable; do not overmix. The finished dough should be light and springy.
Fold in the chocolate chips until they are distributed throughout the dough.
Dollop the dough onto the lined baking sheet, dividing it into 6 to 8 buns.
Bake at 350°F (180 °C) for 18 to 22 minutes, until the buns are golden.
Let the buns cool slightly, then enjoy.
Notes
Use thick cottage cheese, since the amount of liquid can vary. If the cottage cheese is particularly wet, the dough may require additional flour to become scoopable. The source does not specify an oven-preheating instruction or storage guidance.
