Steps
Make the Salami Mixture
In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the finely chopped salami, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and freshly cracked black pepper until evenly combined.
Refrigerate the mixture for 20–30 minutes, until firm enough to shape.
Shape the Mini Pumpkins
Roll the chilled mixture into small, bite-size balls.
Using clean kitchen twine or the dull edge of a knife, gently make vertical ridges around each ball to shape it like a mini pumpkin.
Add a short piece of chive or green onion top to each pumpkin to make a stem.
Assemble the Bites
Place one cheddar square on each buttery cracker.
Set one mini salami pumpkin on top of each cheese-topped cracker.
Arrange the bites on a platter and refrigerate until shortly before serving.
Notes
Refrigerate the assembled bites until shortly before serving. The source does not specify a quantity for the chives or green onion tops.
