Ingredients

  • 1.25 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 0.25 cup light mayo
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp brown sugar substitute (Truvia brand recommended)
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder
  • cayenne (pinch)
  • black pepper (pinch)
  • salt (pinch)
  • water (Optional: Add 1 tbsp at a time to get your desired consistency)

Steps

  1. 1

Add all ingredients (Greek yogurt, light mayo, ketchup, honey, brown sugar substitute, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and all seasonings) to a jar.

  2. 2

Mix the ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth.

  3. 3

Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed for your desired flavor; the author suggests going heavier on seasonings if you can still taste the yogurt base.

  4. 4

Adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding 1-2 tablespoons of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

  5. 5

For best results, let the sauce sit in the fridge for 15–30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  6. 6

Stir the sauce once more before serving.

Notes

The sauce keeps in the fridge for 4-7 days. If the sauce tastes too much like yogurt, it means it hasn't been seasoned enough—simply add more of the spice blend. Serving size is approximately 4 tablespoons.
