Ingredients
- 1 cup White rice (Rinsed before cooking)
- 250 g Ground beef
- 1 Carrot (Cut into thin strips)
- 0.5 Cucumber (Cut into half-moons)
- 2 Green onions (Sliced; reserve some of the green part for finishing)
- 2 Garlic (Minced)
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tsp Fresh ginger (Grated)
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil (For sautéing)
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds (For garnish)
- Salt (To taste)
Steps
- 1
Rinse the rice under running water until the water runs almost clear. Cook it according to the package instructions, and keep it covered and warm while preparing the rest of the bowl.
- 2
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and grated ginger until smooth.
- 3
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant but not browned.
- 4
Add the ground beef and cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula, until well browned and it reaches 71 °C in the center.
- 5
Pour the sauce over the beef and stir for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has reduced slightly and coats the beef.
- 6
In another skillet, sauté the carrot for 2-3 minutes, until tender but still slightly crisp.
- 7
Divide the hot rice between two bowls. Arrange the beef, carrot, cucumber, and green onions on top.
- 8
Finish with the sesame seeds and the reserved green part of the green onions. Serve immediately.
