Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 2 Eggs (large)
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
- 0.25 tsp Salt
- 4 oz Cream cheese (softened)
- 0.25 cup Pumpkin puree
- 1 cup Powdered sugar
- 0.5 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
Steps
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, whisking until well combined.
- 3
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and whisk until the batter is smooth.
- 4
Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
- 5
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- 6
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
- 7
While the brownies cool, prepare the pumpkin cream topping. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- 8
Add the pumpkin puree, powdered sugar, and pumpkin pie spice to the cream cheese. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- 9
Once the brownies are fully cooled, spread the pumpkin cream evenly over the top.
- 10
Slice into squares and serve. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
Notes
For the best texture, ensure the brownies are completely cold before adding the cream cheese topping to prevent it from melting.
