Ingredients
- 250 g Mozzarella balls (Drained weight)
- Extra-virgin olive oil (A drizzle; approximate amount to taste)
- 1 tsp Dried oregano
- 1 tsp Dried thyme
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika
- 1 Garlic (Pressed)
- 0.5 Lemon zest (Without the white pith)
- Lemon juice (A drizzle)
- 1 tsp Fresh parsley (Chopped)
- 0.5 tsp Fresh rosemary (Chopped)
- Black pepper (To taste)
- Salt (To taste)
Steps
- 1
Drain the mozzarella balls well and place them in an airtight container, food storage container, or clean jar.
- 2
Drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil over the mozzarella.
- 3
Add the oregano, thyme, and sweet paprika.
- 4
Add the pressed garlic, the zest of half a lemon—without the white pith—and a drizzle of lemon juice.
- 5
Add the chopped fresh parsley, chopped rosemary, and a pinch of black pepper.
- 6
Season with salt to taste, keeping in mind that the mozzarella may already contain some salt.
- 7
Close the container and shake it carefully until the oil, herbs, and seasonings coat the mozzarella balls evenly.
- 8
Refrigerate and let rest for at least 30 to 60 minutes so the flavors can infuse. For a more intense flavor, let them rest overnight.
Notes
Serve chilled as an appetizer. Resting overnight intensifies the flavor. The publication suggests that a touch of heat can be added, although it does not specify an amount or a particular ingredient.
