Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 2 garlic (cloves, minced; use 2–3 cloves)
  • 1 shallot (minced)
  • 0.5 cup cream
  • 0.25 cup pasta water (reserved from cooking the pasta once it is starchy)
  • 0.25 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 0.5 lb crab meat
  • Parmigiano Reggiano (amount not specified)
  • parsley (minced; amount not specified)
  • pasta (pasta of choice; the author paired it with cavatelli; amount not specified)

Steps

  1. 1

Melt the butter in a pan.

  2. 2

Add the minced garlic and shallot. Simmer for 3 minutes.

  3. 3

Whisk in the cream and let the sauce thicken.

  4. 4

Cook the pasta of your choice. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water once it is starchy.

  5. 5

Add the reserved pasta water to the cream sauce, followed by the Old Bay seasoning.

  6. 6

Add the cooked pasta and simmer for another minute.

  7. 7

Remove the pan from the heat. Add the crab and Parmigiano Reggiano, stirring to combine.

  8. 8

Finish with minced parsley and serve.

Notes

The source does not specify amounts for the pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano, or parsley, and does not provide a pasta-cooking time or sauce-thickening time. Add the cheese and parsley according to taste.
