Ingredients

  • 1 package Refrigerated crescent roll dough (Typically an 8-ounce/8-roll package; separated into triangles)
  • 4 oz Deli ham (Thinly sliced)
  • 4 oz Cheese (Sliced or shredded; use a good melting cheese such as cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten for brushing the tops, optional)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  2. 2

Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles. If the dough is sticky, work on a lightly floured surface and keep the triangles chilled until ready to fill.

  3. 3

Place a portion of sliced ham over each dough triangle, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 4

Add a portion of cheese over the ham. Do not overfill, or the cheese may escape during baking.

  5. 5

Starting at the wide end of each triangle, roll the dough toward the pointed tip. Curve the ends slightly and arrange the rolls point-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. 6

Brush the tops with beaten egg if using. This gives the rolls a deeper golden finish.

  7. 7

Bake for about 10–14 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  8. 8

Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving, since the filling will be very hot. Serve warm.
