Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken mince
  • 1 large Carrot (Finely grated; approximately 60 g edible portion)
  • 3 Spring onions (Finely chopped; approximately 45 g)
  • 10 g Garlic (Minced)
  • 15 g Ginger (Minced)
  • 20 ml Soy sauce
  • 5 ml Sesame oil
  • 10 g Cornstarch
  • 40 Dumpling wrappers (Round or square; quantity estimated from the amount of filling)
  • 2 tbsp Water (For wetting and sealing the wrapper edges; amount estimated)
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Black pepper (To taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the chicken mince in a large mixing bowl. Add the finely grated carrot, chopped spring onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

Mix thoroughly until the vegetables and seasonings are evenly distributed and the filling is cohesive. Do not leave pockets of dry cornstarch or unseasoned chicken.

  3. 3

Place one dumpling wrapper on a clean work surface. Put a spoonful of filling in the center, taking care not to overfill it or allow filling to reach the wrapper’s outer edge.

  4. 4

Moisten the wrapper edges with a little water. Fold the wrapper into a half-moon or pleated shape and press the edges firmly together to seal completely.

  5. 5

Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers. Arrange the uncooked dumplings in a single layer on a plate or tray, ensuring they do not touch so they do not stick together.

  6. 6

Freeze the dumplings on the plate or tray until completely firm, approximately 2 hours. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag or airtight container for storage.

Notes

The dumplings can be boiled, steamed, or pan-fried directly from frozen. Serve with satay sauce, add to soup, or enjoy on their own. The source does not specify cooking times or temperatures, so cook using your preferred dumpling method until the wrappers are tender and the chicken filling is fully cooked through, reaching 165°F/74°C internally.
