Ingredients

  • 2 adet Onions (Medium-sized)
  • 2 adet Tomatoes (Medium-sized)
  • 2 adet Kapya peppers
  • 1 bağ Parsley
  • 2 diş Garlic
  • 1 yemek kaşığı Tomato paste
  • 1 yemek kaşığı Aleppo pepper flakes
  • 1 yemek kaşığı İsot pepper
  • 1 yemek kaşığı Dried mint
  • 3 yemek kaşığı Pomegranate molasses (The source specifies 3–4 tbsp.)
  • 0.5 çay bardağı Olive oil
  • Salt (To taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Finely chop the onions, tomatoes, kapya peppers, parsley, and garlic, or process them in a food processor. If using a food processor, do not purée the ingredients or make them excessively watery.

  2. 2

In a bowl, mix the tomato paste, Aleppo pepper flakes, isot pepper, dried mint, and salt.

  3. 3

Add the pomegranate molasses and olive oil to the spiced tomato paste mixture.

  4. 4

Add the chopped vegetables and herbs to the mixture.

  5. 5

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

  6. 6

Let the spicy ezme rest for a few minutes. Garnish and serve if desired.

Notes

The source specifies 3–4 tbsp of pomegranate molasses. When processing the vegetables in a food processor, be careful not to purée them or make them excessively watery.
