Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 1.09 kg before cooking, which is about 1.09 kg per serving.
Steps
Warm the evaporated milk, taking care not to make it hot enough to kill the yeast. Pour it into a mixing bowl and whisk in the yeast and honey.
Let the milk, yeast, and honey mixture stand for about 10 minutes, until the yeast becomes foamy.
Add the salt and melted butter to the foamy yeast mixture, and mix to combine.
Gradually add the bread flour, mixing as you go. Continue mixing and then knead the dough until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Use only as much of the 3–4 cups of flour as needed to reach this consistency.
Transfer the dough to a greased container. Cover it and let it rise until doubled in size.
Grease a bread pan. Shape the risen dough into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan.
Cover the pan and let the dough rise again until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190 °C) (190°C (375 °F)).
Bake the loaf at 375°F (190 °C) (190°C (375 °F)) for approximately 25–30 minutes, or until fully baked.
Brush the top of the hot loaf with butter as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Let the bread cool before slicing.
Notes
The source does not specify exact rising times; allow the dough to rise by volume until doubled rather than relying solely on the clock. The flour amount is variable, so add it gradually. The source describes the finished bread as soft, moist, and resistant to crumbling when sliced.
