Ingredients
- 16 oz pizza dough (chopped into about 16 pieces)
- fresh parsley (finely chopped for chimichurri)
- chilies (finely chopped for chimichurri)
- garlic (minced for chimichurri)
- dried oregano (for chimichurri)
- red wine vinegar (for chimichurri)
- olive oil (for chimichurri)
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1.5 cup shaved steak
- 1.5 cup smoked provolone cheese (shredded)
- 1.5 cup pepper jack cheese (shredded)
Steps
- 1
Chop 16 ounces of pizza dough into approximately 16 equal-sized pieces.
- 2
In a mixing bowl, combine the parsley, chilies, garlic, oregano, red wine vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper to create the chimichurri sauce.
- 3
Toss the chopped pizza dough pieces with the prepared chimichurri until well coated.
- 4
Add 1.5 cups of shaved steak, 1.5 cups of smoked provolone, and 1.5 cups of pepper jack cheese to the dough mixture and mix together.
- 5
Place an upside-down ramekin in the center of a springform cake pan to create a hole.
- 6
Arrange the dough and steak mixture inside the springform pan around the ramekin.
- 7
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 30 minutes until the dough is cooked through and the cheese is melted and golden.
- 8
Remove from the oven, release the springform pan sides, flip the ramekin right-side up in the center, and fill it with extra chimichurri for dipping.
Notes
The author uses a springform pan to create a pull-apart style ring. The ramekin serves as both a placeholder for the center hole and a serving vessel for the dipping sauce.
